Deborah E. Jones, fondly known as Dr. “DJ,” is a distinguished educator, executive coach, and leadership consultant with an inspiring 50-year career dedicated to transforming education. A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Dr. DJ began her lifelong journey in education by writing her first book, Teacher’s Pet: Notes on Children, Teaching, and Learning, as a senior at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1975.

She earned a B.S. in Physical Education at UNC Greensboro in 1975, a M.Ed. in 1982, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the same university. As the founder of Educational Leadership Consulting, LLC, Dr. DJ specializes in leadership development, school improvement, and customized coaching and training programs that empower educators and organizations to achieve meaningful, lasting success.

Her passion for education and her commitment to service have earned her numerous awards and recognitions, reflecting her unwavering dedication to nurturing children and building strong educational communities.
